We are Full Time!

It has been quite a while since we’ve posted a blog update. On June 20th we hitched up the Brinkley I-265 to our Ford F-150 King Ranch, worked our checklist to ensure we hadn’t missed anything vital, and cast off on the adventure of a lifetime. We are now full time boondockers, our permanent residence a mailbox in Spearfish, South Dakota.

It has been an Odessey, documented in large part on social media through Instagram and Facebook posts. We traveled North through Iowa to Omaha, Nebraska, and then set our sights on South Dakota. We visited several notable locations such as Devil’s Tower, while also making a trip to the DMV to obtain a South Dakota driver’s license. From there we journeyed across Wyoming and into Utah, eventually making our way into Nevada. We traveled well-known and loved roads into the Black Rock Desert for 4th of July and some local adventures before moving on to Verdi, Nevada to wait for Amazon packages. Vital packages, our 400 watt “Solar Suitcases” from Renogy.

We are currently dry camping through the 26th of July in the Tahoe National Forest. That puts us across the line into California, north of I-80 in Sierra County.

There are a LOT of “chop wood, carry water” pieces to the routine that we need to tighten up. The “routine” is the thing that survives each location, and it is constantly under refinement. Long live the journey!
