Short boots proved to be a pain in the ass in the forests of Sierra County, California. Just about everything on the forest floor wants to hitch a ride to parts unknown in hopes of continuing the cycle of life. I tried to sock blouse to no avail.
After our third day of picking things out of socks and boots I’d had enough.
We hotfooted ourselves over to Cabela’s in Verdi, Nevada, and picked up a pair of leg gaiters. These are NOT cheap! Retail ran $69.99 so you know I really had to want them! https://www.cabelas.com/p/cabelas-outdoorsmen-leg-gaiters

We’ve already been on a pair of hikes with them. They’re comfortable, unobtrusive, and shed 99% of sticky hitchhiker things.
